Jetboy is an AFOL, crazy builder, proud member of Zbudujmy.to, where he used to be LAN Ambassador for many years. When he does not use his brick superpowers he works as game developer, plays with yoyo, and dive, he has also been known for his demo-scene involvements. There is more to it, but let's cut the crap already ;)

Gamabomb’s Robot Crew

Flickt user Gamabomb is an expert mech builder. His recent creation CailIn  isparticularly interesting because of unusual head. Do you wonder how it is made? I was, but the mystery is easily explained when you follow Gamambomb’s photo stream:

Flipped insideout tires are not new to AFOL builders, but mixing them with Star Wars constraction figures helmets is something new.

There are more wonderful creations there, like this one for example:

Insect Warrior

I do not like Bionicle, those appeared when my dark age has started, i do not have many pieces. No wonder I cannot build with them. Unlike Moko who apparently does. This Insect Warrior is a masterpiece in it’s own class, not only it looks great, but is also very posable.

What kept me away from Bionicles is the fact that original sets are just skeletons with some cover here and there, but when i see a fan build that is full of substance, like with this Moko creation, there is nothing about them not to love.

LEGOWISKO ŁÓDŹ 2016

What is the better way to invite fellow AFOLs to your event than by making MOC? I do not know better, as did Krzysztof Pusz  of LUGPol who built this inviting scene.

The event will take place in:
Łódzki Dom Kultury
ul. Traugutta 18
ŁÓDŹ
POLAND

The date is 2-3.07.2016, that is next weekend. You can find more info on LUGPol’s website if you are interested to go.

We will be there on Saturday as regular visitors, and will be capturing some video footage and photos, so subscribe or follow us on facebook not to miss the report.

The Burrow

This is the best version of The Burrow i ever seen build out of Lego Bricks. The Burrow is Weasley’s family “mansion” from Harry Potter.  Marcel V. has built it using many great techniques, few borrowed from other builders, most invented by himself, like this set of wonderful window mosaics :

Visit Marcel’s second flickr account  for a great collection of extremely fine and advanced building techniques.

Simple Drawing Machine | JK Brickworks

Jason Allemann of JK Brickworks has posted today his Spirograph. There were many similar construction build before, but this one is extremely simple, yet can draw variety of shapes. As always Jason provides instruction for this toy if you want to build your own version.

Micro AT-ST

Seems this week is microscale week, so many cool micro builds were posted on the net. One of them is Simon Liu‘s scene where micro AT-ST are guarding some bunker.

Those walker are one of the smallest i have seen, yet they are extremely detailed. That is not first time Simon shows his building skills, and i’m sure there is more to come.

And no. This is not the scene from Empire Strikes back, that would have more green in it. This is Star Wars Battlefront build.

2×3 bricks shaped sandwiches

Sandwiches

What would a fan of Lego bricks eat for breakfast? A set of 2×3 brick shaped sandwiches. Big thank you for my girlfriend Ania for making them.

Sandwiches in Poland differ form the western ones. We only use one slice of bread to make them. The plus is, you can make them look like 2×3 plates. Well, different configurations are possible too, all depends on the shape of bread and what you put on it. I bet most of the kids would love to eat such a treat too, just now it would be harder to persuade them not to play with food 😉

Sandwiches

Bon appetite!

The Scarecrow

Tim Lydy has build a scarecrow. And a scary  one this is indeed! I think it is in the eyes!

The needle hand reminds me of Freddy Kruger of the Nightmare on Elm Street horror serie. Was i scared when i was a kid watching it? However this  character is not ours, but Batman’s nightmare.

Dr. Johnathan Crane, aka the Scarecrow, is one of the Batman’s most fearsome enemies. Utilizing toxins, he creates terrifying hallucinations to kill his victims.

BuWizz – replacement for PF remote controll?

Sariel has published his test of an early version of BuWizz. BuWizz is not the first system to replace LEGO PF ir remote control with a bluetooth solution, that allows you to control your creations from your phone. But unlike S-Brick that was getting popular recently, it also packs extremely efficient battery into one box.

So in a 4x8x3 studs box, size of Power Fucnction Rechargable Battery Box  we get a more efficient battery, and 4 power connectors, that are equivalent of 2 IR towers, or one SBrick. That is a lot of saved space, especially if you try to build something compact.

According to Paweł, it is very responsive, and extremely accurate. There is also a high voltage mode, where battery is able to output a little bit higher voltage than PF standards, resulting in more speed and power of the motors.  But remember, you are using it on your own risk, as it can influence your PF Motors lifespan.

To recharge the battery, you use microusb port, which makes it easy to refill the power on the go with any power bank.

BuWizz has a kickstarter campaign running now, where you can get it at $89 as an early bird, or $119 as regular supporter. You can of course pledge more if you wish for it to became reality.
