Lego Tower… with drawers!

Lego Tower build by Nico Mailhot presented by Beyond the Brick’s Matthew Kay is definitely crazy enough to be shown here.

5 feet 8 inches (almost 173cm) has removable drawer-like floors that are full of life. It is innovative approach to building brick skyscrapers, and very inspiring.

Tan’thu the ancient entity

Tan'thu the ancient entity

Tan’thu was built by Micah Beideman with some help of his friends. This build proves that tires are one of the best pieces to create organic shapes  when you turn them inside-out. Also if you wonder what is mouth piece built with, it is bottom jaw from Ninjago  dragon. Pretty clever piece use.

Is it possible that we have the MOC of they year in the very beginning of January? Either way, if this year starts with such masterpiece, i’m looking forward what the rest of the year will bring.

Golem

There is interesting contest going on in Poaland. Lugpol’s and Zbudujmy.to user, Johan is running his private contest. There will be many stages each being separate task. For starters we were asked to build figurine in minifig scale, without using minifig parts – well, legs, torsos and heads are forbidden.

Golem is my entry.  If you wonder – it’s not the Golem that is preventing me from updating this blog in timely manners. I hope i will be back next month with some changes, and daily updates.

Sword Class spaceship

Michał Kaźmierczak aka Migalart does it again. Another of his creation is mind blowing. This space ship is huge and very detailed. Use of fluorescent paint adds to the look by making series of windows glowing. The ship is built as a prop for his space comic, but this project, even with Michał’s dedication will probably take several years. I just can’t wait!

ETNAK class frigate

We were talking about unusual shapes made with bricks. This spaceship by Flavio is a perfect example. There are not many straight angles in this model. The use of white stripes is adding to the look of the model. It is also worth noticing how those 2 small stickers are contributing a lot to make the general impression. I have to rethink my “no stickers policy”.

Oh, and i want to remind you that it’s shiptember now! The month where you build 100 stud long spaceships. This one is a little to small, but all over flicker you can see photos of people building their shiptember ships.  I would build mine too, but september is not the best time for me, real life bites, and i’m not even able to repost cool build every day, not to mention writing and building something original myself. But it will get better. I hope 🙂

Classic Space Pacman

Pacman is even more classic in games than Classic Space is classic in LEGO bricks. How classic is PacMan in Classic Space version? I do not know! Mind blown!

This crazy version of PacMan was built by David Roberts. The build is really nice, but i guess it would be possible to make PacMan ship even rounder. Then it is a spaceship, a little bit of edge here and there seems pretty ok.

On a side note, can we expect PacMan minifig from LEGO? Or other game characters? But we can for sure count on the fans in that matter.

Microscale City Winner

Letranger Absurde‘s Petra is winning entry of RoLUG ‘s Microscale City Contest. Congratulations! The MOC looks really amazing, and it could be turned into genuine LEGO Architecture set as it is, but i advise you to see the rest of the competition as there are more cool builds.

Eiffel Tower

Here is my version of famous Eiffel Tower. Unlike Palace of Culture, i have never seen it with my own eyes, so i was building entirely using photos and blueprints as a reference. It is more like artistic impression of the Tower, then the exact model, but taking in consideration that this shape is not very brick friendly, i’m pretty happy with the end result. There is a little story behind it too, so “stay away and listen”.
