The laboratory of Maria Skłodowska-Curie

maria-curie

Maria Skłodowska-Curie was one of the most outstanding figures in the world of science. Born in Poland, she studied and worked in France. Together with her husband, a French physicist – Pierre Curie – she discovered two radioactive elements – polonium and radium. She was the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize and the first person in the world and the only woman to receive this award twice – in two areas – chemistry and physics. She was friend of Albert Einstein. As one of the first women she made a driving license. She was not afraid to break old rules in the world where woman were just starting to fight for their rights.

I am very impressed by the achievements of Maria Skłodowska-Curie and therefore I decided to honor her in a way that I am the most familiar with – with a LEGO® creation. By voting we can make the scene an official set. Let’s do it!

Writes Krzysztof Słomowski also known as Crises, my Zbudujmy.to! colleague,  in his LEGO IDEAS submission. I think the project is worth supporting, and spreading around, so lets all help to make it a real Lego set!

You can vote for this project here and then remember to visit Krzysiek’s Flicker account, as he has some more cool builds in his account. I always admire him for putting so much story into his builds!
