Ingenious Dwarves and their Magnificent Creations

Another entry for Summer Joust Contest 2016. This time BHs, Johan and Goldsun of Zbudujmy.to created their contest entries, losely based on a Tolkien poem.

Far over the Misty Mountains cold (Johan)
To dungeons deep and caverns old (BHs)
We must away ere break of day,
To claim our long-forgotten gold.(Goldsun)

“The Misty Mountains”, autor: J.R.R.Tolkien

Using Tolkien here is a little bit strech as there were no airborn dragon hunters, nor the mechs, and Dwemerium is part of Elder Scrolls saga, but if you take this away, those works are quite nice. Take a look at the pictures:

Dragon Hunt by Johan

Dwemerium by BHs.

Steam Princess and the Seven Dwarves by Goldsun

If you click on the photos you should be taken to the appropriate flickr albums. And i keep my fingers crossed for this Team too.

Faun Valley – Summer Joust 2016 Contest entry from Zbudujmy.to

Just a few days ago submission deadline for Summer Joust 2016 Contest has passed.  One of the entries from Zbudujmy.to was Faun Valley project built by Dzidek, Filozof and Toltomeja

The Fauns are a small community leading its peaceful life close to the nature. They are known for their love for apples. As a community they love the red apples the most. But the green ones are also desired as they are used for making the greatest cider in all the lands known.

The green apples are transported to places like this where they are manufactured by Fauns into cider. Fauns love their work, milling and pressing the apples, although it is not easy. The drink is then distributed among the folk of Faun Valley.

Every year the Fauns gather at the Shrine to thank Nature for the treasures it has given them. Among them, the sweet red apples that the Valley is famous for.

I keep my fingers crossed for the guys, and i wish them luck, as competition is strong.

Yet another Palace of Culture and Science

This is time-lapse video of me and Krusia, my girlfriend’s plush duplo rabbit building Palace of Culture and Science. This is not the first time Krusia helps me build, but it has never been shown to public how do we build a model from start to finish.

Some might wonder why we are building another version of famous Warsaw’s landmark. This time we were involved in another project by LEGO Poland. There were 17 landmarks to be built by people involved, i have chosen something else, but as nobody wanted to build PoCaS and i was already familiar with the geometry, i ended up building this version.  I’m not sure how much info i can share now, so i will not say much more.

As you can see this MOC is much less detailed, but that was the idea of the project to build a little bit smaller and simpler.  Proportions are also skewed a bit like in my previous build, but i’m more perception builder than the robot architect. The general look and feel of the object build is much more important to me than accuracy.

This was also an experiment to try to mix time-lapse with stop motion animation. I’m pretty pleased with results, are you? Would you like to see more videos like that? If yes, subscribe, comment and share.

School of Dance Modular Style

Krzysztof Pusz aka Servator moderator from LUGPol has tried his strengths in modular building for the first time. The results are amazing.  Someone might argue that the floors are too high for modular building, but someone else might argue that they are too low in regular modulars. Decorations on the outside are just perfect, enough to make facade interesting but not cluttered. The real treats are hiding inside.

Dance School

There is dancing room with piano, balet room and a place to train break dance. The place even has some space for wheelchair dancing! There is also some football player sleeping on money at the roof. If i know Krzysztof that would be Robert Lewandowski.

Some of the girls want to bring some colors to the school painting it pink and clothing one of the statues in their own pink skirt.

0.1

This modular was built for LUGPol’s event in Łódź that will be held this weekend, but has already been presented on LUGPol, Zbudujmy.to and Eurobricks where you can read some more on this moc.

Ulysse 31 inspired spaceship.

I cannot pass greatly built spaceship when i see one. That is the case with this creation by GolPlaysWithLego which is loosely inspired by Odysseus, iconic starship from Ulysse 31 – Freanch/Japanese TV serie from the 80’s.

I love the unusual rounded shape and some small details that make this MOC shine.

Why are they red and squishy on the inside?

This pretty dynamic and violent scene was made by Chris Maddison and it proves LEGO is much more than just kids toy.

I really like creative use of the rubbers to make up for torn flesh, but the robots are works of art on their own. Also that level of vivid articulation is not easy to achieve with pretty stiff minifigs.

The only thing that could made this photo better, would be brick built scenery.

Kaneda’s Bike from AKIRA

Akira is a classic of both Manga and Anime, and there is no other thing more iconic to those genres than the red bike. This brick version of the thing built by Flicker’s M. Mipi is shing bright because it combines 3 factors: It is minifig scale, it is very detailed and it looks great.

Of course this is not the first version of this classic. Blog Tiles or Studs keeps track of all known builds of Kaneda’s Bike. Follow this link if you are interested.

Biskupin –  premedieval Polish setlement.

After half year of work Bartek H has finished his brick recreation of Biskupin. That long it took from first sketches and LDD project to the final MOC to be created. The build consists of 36000 elements and is 5×4 baseplates big, not counting wooden bridge sticking away.

Here is short history behind Biskupin: Continue reading Biskupin –  premedieval Polish setlement.

The longest sandwich in the Kingdom

Seems we are turning into food blog. First i posted about Brick Shaped Sandwiches now Crises built this funny scene with the longest sandwich in the kingdom.

Crises’s horseshoe shaped bakery scene is quite simple, yet detailed. Take a look the laundry, and the privy at the back.

Bon appetite!

Fallout 4’s Abernathy Farm

Building with Lego usually leads to straight angles and everything clean and tidy. Wookieewarrior proves that something totally opposite can be achieved too. This requires insane amount of skill and creativity. There is almost no straight angle in this build!

Fallout 4 fans will recognize this location easily. Beautifully edited photo adds to the awesomeness, but the greatness of this build is just crazy trough the roof! It does not even look as Lego at first glance!
