Vampire State Building

Vampire State Building is a skyscraper i  built for another LEGO Poland event. This is pretty simple, but the  goal was to build skyscraper that would  be easy to transport and  children-proof . If it was not for that i would go more crazy with ornaments and  fancy wall shapes.

If you look closely , you will find 2  lines where bricks are not fit together – that’s because i needed to get out of my apartment split into 3 pieces , after photo session.

Krusia, my faithful helper rabbit builder helped me putting all those  bricks together. It took us about a week, and about 16K bricks. There will be  time-wrapped  video of us building it soon, but for now take a look at some more photos:

Golem

There is interesting contest going on in Poaland. Lugpol’s and Zbudujmy.to user, Johan is running his private contest. There will be many stages each being separate task. For starters we were asked to build figurine in minifig scale, without using minifig parts – well, legs, torsos and heads are forbidden.

Golem is my entry.  If you wonder – it’s not the Golem that is preventing me from updating this blog in timely manners. I hope i will be back next month with some changes, and daily updates.

Eiffel Tower

Here is my version of famous Eiffel Tower. Unlike Palace of Culture, i have never seen it with my own eyes, so i was building entirely using photos and blueprints as a reference. It is more like artistic impression of the Tower, then the exact model, but taking in consideration that this shape is not very brick friendly, i’m pretty happy with the end result. There is a little story behind it too, so “stay away and listen”. Yet another Palace of Culture and Science

This is time-lapse video of me and Krusia, my girlfriend’s plush duplo rabbit building Palace of Culture and Science. This is not the first time Krusia helps me build, but it has never been shown to public how do we build a model from start to finish.

Some might wonder why we are building another version of famous Warsaw’s landmark. This time we were involved in another project by LEGO Poland. There were 17 landmarks to be built by people involved, i have chosen something else, but as nobody wanted to build PoCaS and i was already familiar with the geometry, i ended up building this version.  I’m not sure how much info i can share now, so i will not say much more.

As you can see this MOC is much less detailed, but that was the idea of the project to build a little bit smaller and simpler.  Proportions are also skewed a bit like in my previous build, but i’m more perception builder than the robot architect. The general look and feel of the object build is much more important to me than accuracy.

This was also an experiment to try to mix time-lapse with stop motion animation. I’m pretty pleased with results, are you? Would you like to see more videos like that? If yes, subscribe, comment and share.
