Hi! I’m jetboy!
I run this site, and this little tab is a place that is my personal brick portfolio.
Take a look what have i built:

Alternative models of 911720 SW Ghost

LUGPol is just running a contest  where you need to make  alternative models of  911720 SW Ghost  foilpack.  I prepared a few ideas.

Minifg’s Gym

I wanted to create something not obvious, so my first choice was a gym. Is that obvious? Not for me, as i cannot recall when i was last at the gym…

From left to right: drink water tank/resting place, squeezing bench, barbells stand, stepper bench.

Unused elements: 0

Dragster

Almost any set with wheels can be turned into Dragster. This one does not have wheels per se, but as you see can be turned into a dragster anyway.

Unused elements: 2

Starfleet

If you can make a dragster out of the set, you can turn it into a spaceship, if you cannot make a dragster, then you can make it into a spaceship, or a fleet of.

Unused elements: 0 (well, one is unattached and is used only to level one of the ships)

Nexus and his dog

“Nexus and his dog” used to be a theme of one of the old contest. Thos time Nexus is quite robotic and the dog resembles more a turkey then the dog.  Well, at least all parts are used 🙂

Unused  elements: 0

look from behind:

Race

Snail vs Turtle race has to be fierce! Either way we have something for animal lovers.

Unused elements: 14 (shame on me!)

That was  only a warm-up.  We only can put one build into the contest, so here is my entry. Wish me luck!

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you are my only hope!

I’m happy i kept the SW theme here.

Unused elements: 12 (quite a few, but the result was worth it, and it was no requirement, but i always challenge myself to try to use all elements)

Wish me luck!  And write what else would you like me to build out of this set?

Golem

There is interesting contest going on in Poaland. Lugpol’s and Zbudujmy.to user, Johan is running his private contest. There will be many stages each being separate task. For starters we were asked to build figurine in minifig scale, without using minifig parts – well, legs, torsos and heads are forbidden.

Golem is my entry.  If you wonder – it’s not the Golem that is preventing me from updating this blog in timely manners. I hope i will be back next month with some changes, and daily updates.

Eiffel Tower

Here is my version of famous Eiffel Tower. Unlike Palace of Culture, i have never seen it with my own eyes, so i was building entirely using photos and blueprints as a reference. It is more like artistic impression of the Tower, then the exact model, but taking in consideration that this shape is not very brick friendly, i’m pretty happy with the end result. There is a little story behind it too, so “stay away and listen”. Yet another Palace of Culture and Science

This is time-lapse video of me and Krusia, my girlfriend’s plush duplo rabbit building Palace of Culture and Science. This is not the first time Krusia helps me build, but it has never been shown to public how do we build a model from start to finish.

Some might wonder why we are building another version of famous Warsaw’s landmark. This time we were involved in another project by LEGO Poland. There were 17 landmarks to be built by people involved, i have chosen something else, but as nobody wanted to build PoCaS and i was already familiar with the geometry, i ended up building this version.  I’m not sure how much info i can share now, so i will not say much more.

As you can see this MOC is much less detailed, but that was the idea of the project to build a little bit smaller and simpler.  Proportions are also skewed a bit like in my previous build, but i’m more perception builder than the robot architect. The general look and feel of the object build is much more important to me than accuracy.

This was also an experiment to try to mix time-lapse with stop motion animation. I’m pretty pleased with results, are you? Would you like to see more videos like that? If yes, subscribe, comment and share.

Warsaw’s Palace of Culture and Science

Palace of Culture and Science in LEGO by Jetboy of Zbudujmy.to

Warsaw’s Palace of Culture and Science was originally build by Russian architect Lew Rudniew in 1952-1955. This  LEGO brick version  was built by me (Jetboy) during 2015-2016.

This build consist of almost 30000 bricks, is over 125 cm high, and it is the biggest thing i ever built. It’s base 4×5 baseplates, although i seen bigger things built out of LEGO bricks, is huge enough to call it crazy.

In late 2015 Polish LUGs were approached by LEGO Poland, to build some most iconic Polish landmarks AFOL style fir their Zone of Adult Fans of LEGO. We made projects in LDD, and 4 of them were selected to be built with real bricks. Palace of Culture and Science was one of them. It took me  about half year from starting project in LDD to handing the model to LEGO Poland, it was and adventure of it’s own. I will write in depth article about it soon. Subscribe, so you will not miss it!

Palace of Culture and Science in LEGO by Jetboy of Zbudujmy.to

I was building it keeping LEGO Architecture style in mind. That’s why there is that black, stripe around it. The thing is that Palace is so huge, i had to make it 2 studs wide, as one stud tiles would be hardly noticeable.

Death Planet aka Star Killer Base

When i saw poster for Episode 7 i instantly knew i have to build this one. Death Planet aka Star Killer Base. This picture is heavily photoshopped for effect, so take a look at the other one that is untouched except color corrections and scaling: Continue reading Death Planet aka Star Killer Base

Sea Horse

SeaHorse

We were sitting on one of the Zbudujmy.to exhibitions and sorting through goodie bags. Someone took out those horse armors and said: “Oh, and a whole bag of those! Those are totally useless, you cannot use it otherwise than as a horse armor!” then someone added “Yeah! Those are as useless as those speedzors covers!”
