Flickt user Gamabomb is an expert mech builder. His recent creation CailIn isparticularly interesting because of unusual head. Do you wonder how it is made? I was, but the mystery is easily explained when you follow Gamambomb’s photo stream:
Flipped insideout tires are not new to AFOL builders, but mixing them with Star Wars constraction figures helmets is something new.
There are more wonderful creations there, like this one for example:
I do not like Bionicle, those appeared when my dark age has started, i do not have many pieces. No wonder I cannot build with them. Unlike Moko who apparently does. This Insect Warrior is a masterpiece in it’s own class, not only it looks great, but is also very posable.
What kept me away from Bionicles is the fact that original sets are just skeletons with some cover here and there, but when i see a fan build that is full of substance, like with this Moko creation, there is nothing about them not to love.
This is the best version of The Burrow i ever seen build out of Lego Bricks. The Burrow is Weasley’s family “mansion” from Harry Potter. Marcel V. has built it using many great techniques, few borrowed from other builders, most invented by himself, like this set of wonderful window mosaics :
Jason Allemann of JK Brickworks has posted today his Spirograph. There were many similar construction build before, but this one is extremely simple, yet can draw variety of shapes. As always Jason provides instruction for this toy if you want to build your own version.
Flickr user -derjoe- has come up with new, at least to me, techniques to make birds. That is amazing NPU, and idea worth adopting to your MOCs whenever you need small birds. I can’t decide which one i like more, but the one with the bucket and rattle is definitely less obvious.
Those birds are the highlight of a great scene at the museum:
Microscale is something i like to both build and watch. No wonder that this castle by Aido K has drawn my attention. It is not only very beautiful but also historically accurate. This siege of Dover Castle is not the first historical work of Aido, take a look at this map depicting political situation in South East England 1216.
What is interesting about this build is unusual use of baseplate and snot map. In both cases there is a lot of brick stacking – technique where parts are not really connected, just stacked one on another. It works well on a photo, but is a paint to take those models to exhibitions, because even weak shakes of the table can rearrange the setup 🙂 Neverthless i cant stop starring at them both.
This photo taken by Julius von Brunk is so amazing i couldn’t resist posting it. It has so much life within it, and the classic space theme is also making it very special for me.
The far-out intergalactic space rock band The Highway Stars performing in front of a group of ‘nauts!
Says Julius in description of his photo. The skill of photography is also very high with this one. Photo was taken with a glass plate and a set of Christmas Lights. I would need to experiment with such setup, i ll share my experiences if i do.
Now follow Julius on Flickr as he has much more treats of advanced Lego Photography.
Mercedes Arctos is quite popular in LEGO, mainly because of the 42043 flagship Technic model of year 2015. Firefighters is quite often build theme by AFOLs. Smigol of Zbudujmy.to joins those two trends with his 2 minifig firefighting trucks.
Those are not the first firebrigade cars he built, and as usually those are full of detail. Take a look at some more of those little MOC’s photos and follow Kamil’s flickr.
