Hercules – The Spaceship

Michał Kaźmierczak aka Migalart is building a spaceship fleet for his brick built comic book. He surely can photo edit to make his creations look great.

But if you want to admire the build more than pretty photo here is the version that will let you look at the great greebling. Notice how the small windows were made with plain 1×1 transparent plates and some gray tape.

I’m sure this is not the last time we will host Michał here. Oh and as a bonus, take a look at the ship from his comic in microscale:

Microscale Herley Quinn

It seems it is superheroes week. We have posted some great superhero MOCs already, but this time it is time for a microscale. This version of Harley Quinn by Grantmasters is not much smaller than minifig, but it has some interesting NPUs and has definetely better body shapes than minifigs.

This is one of those MOCs that proves that you do not need a ton of bricks to make something absolutely amazing!

Shoebird

NPU is finding new usage for parts, usually usage that is not so obvious. There are people who find it the highest form of LEGO Bricks art. I’m one of them, so i culdn’t pass this MOC by Moko.

The most prominent part in this build is the beak that comes from General Grevious constraction figure 75112, but without eyes made out of One Ring from LOTR/Hobbit and part introduced as Unikity tail, the bird wouldn’t be as grat as it is.

Also foots are very clever build, that can be easily missed if you admire the head.

More pictures at Moko’s blog, including building hints. There is also interesting read if you can read Japanese.

Ingenious Dwarves and their Magnificent Creations

Another entry for Summer Joust Contest 2016. This time BHs, Johan and Goldsun of Zbudujmy.to created their contest entries, losely based on a Tolkien poem.

Far over the Misty Mountains cold (Johan)
To dungeons deep and caverns old (BHs)
We must away ere break of day,
To claim our long-forgotten gold.(Goldsun)

“The Misty Mountains”, autor: J.R.R.Tolkien

Using Tolkien here is a little bit strech as there were no airborn dragon hunters, nor the mechs, and Dwemerium is part of Elder Scrolls saga, but if you take this away, those works are quite nice. Take a look at the pictures:

Dragon Hunt by Johan

Dwemerium by BHs.

Steam Princess and the Seven Dwarves by Goldsun

If you click on the photos you should be taken to the appropriate flickr albums. And i keep my fingers crossed for this Team too.

Legowisko 2016 – LUGPol expo in ŁÓDŹ – photos

Last week i visited LUGPol’s exhibition in Łódzki Dom Kultury, in Łódź/Poland. The event was held in 2 medium halls where one of them was dedicated to MOC exhibition, and another one to kids play area, Brickwars and Mindstorms.

The event spanned entire weekend, but i only was there for the Saturday.  Due to the Hot Sunny Weather attendance was a little bit low, but i heard it got better on Sunday which was colder and rainy. But the atmosphere inside was very friendly all the time. I was not the only visitor from another LUG there, except me there was also Mario from Brazil, and we were both taken care about like we were family members.

Łódź is known as a polish capital of animation, so there had to be some character known from Polish cartoons:

LUGPol has very strong Technic section, and they were racing with their truck all day. It was even possible to take part in the races and win prizes if you were just usual visitor.

There were also shows of Truck Trials, and a small GBC – i will post video of that later this week.

One of the highligts was Modular City Project. Most of the buildings were made especially for that occasion and some were really amazing (2 of them were even featured here). But for me the best part was to meet other builders and talk to the old and new friends.

Follow to Flickr for more photos from event.

Faun Valley – Summer Joust 2016 Contest entry from Zbudujmy.to

Just a few days ago submission deadline for Summer Joust 2016 Contest has passed.  One of the entries from Zbudujmy.to was Faun Valley project built by Dzidek, Filozof and Toltomeja

The Fauns are a small community leading its peaceful life close to the nature. They are known for their love for apples. As a community they love the red apples the most. But the green ones are also desired as they are used for making the greatest cider in all the lands known.

The green apples are transported to places like this where they are manufactured by Fauns into cider. Fauns love their work, milling and pressing the apples, although it is not easy. The drink is then distributed among the folk of Faun Valley.

Every year the Fauns gather at the Shrine to thank Nature for the treasures it has given them. Among them, the sweet red apples that the Valley is famous for.

I keep my fingers crossed for the guys, and i wish them luck, as competition is strong.

School of Dance Modular Style

Krzysztof Pusz aka Servator moderator from LUGPol has tried his strengths in modular building for the first time. The results are amazing.  Someone might argue that the floors are too high for modular building, but someone else might argue that they are too low in regular modulars. Decorations on the outside are just perfect, enough to make facade interesting but not cluttered. The real treats are hiding inside.

Dance School

There is dancing room with piano, balet room and a place to train break dance. The place even has some space for wheelchair dancing! There is also some football player sleeping on money at the roof. If i know Krzysztof that would be Robert Lewandowski.

Some of the girls want to bring some colors to the school painting it pink and clothing one of the statues in their own pink skirt.

0.1

This modular was built for LUGPol’s event in Łódź that will be held this weekend, but has already been presented on LUGPol, Zbudujmy.to and Eurobricks where you can read some more on this moc.

Ulysse 31 inspired spaceship.

I cannot pass greatly built spaceship when i see one. That is the case with this creation by GolPlaysWithLego which is loosely inspired by Odysseus, iconic starship from Ulysse 31 – Freanch/Japanese TV serie from the 80’s.

I love the unusual rounded shape and some small details that make this MOC shine.

Kaneda’s Bike from AKIRA

Akira is a classic of both Manga and Anime, and there is no other thing more iconic to those genres than the red bike. This brick version of the thing built by Flicker’s M. Mipi is shing bright because it combines 3 factors: It is minifig scale, it is very detailed and it looks great.

Of course this is not the first version of this classic. Blog Tiles or Studs keeps track of all known builds of Kaneda’s Bike. Follow this link if you are interested.
